As I look at your diagram(s) I can see a sort of datum line, the dashed line moving through each notation, this is contantly changing in through each notation, although the third notation less than the first two...is there a way you can use the information held in each of these dashed datum lines to influence the regular mirrored datum line in your model, and allow it to not be just a mirroring line?? Maybe this sets up a parameter as to how far off center the unit can move from the "center line" this seems to follow your core/center concept as a point of interest as stated in your recipe...
